Rosco's Sports Bar & Grill | Erie, PA

In several conversations with several different people, I have always said that Buffalo Road needs to step away from the chain restaurants and start promoting the small businesses that have the possibility to come here.

This is not to say that I haven't taken advantage of the 2:00 am post-night out McDonald's trip way back when or even just snagging a sandwich on the way home from Subway because I didn't feel like cooking. I think they have their time and place (even at 2:00 am).

When I found out some insider information (even though it may not have been but I'll pretend that it was a VIP moment) that a locally owned restaurant was moving into town. I was quite happy.

Rosco's Sports Bar & Grill opened earlier this month, just before the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day.

The local rumor is that this location was formally the old Skateway. Not being from the area, I am going to have to take these few locals on their word! ;)

The interior is spacious. There is plenty of seating in the lower and upper areas. The lower area has several tables, booths, and bar seating. The upper area has some more cozy seating and another bar for patrons. They also have a "locker room" where they have apparel/merchandise you can purchase!

I've been here twice and each time we've sat in the lower area, once closer to the bar and the other a bit further away. I never felt like we were ever sitting "on top of" another customer.

Since being pregnant, I've had to be cautious of what I was eating (RIP medium burgers and sushi). I've stuck to grilled chicken for proteins while I have been out and really taken to wraps and salads. During both my visits to Rosco's, that has been no exception.

One of my favorite things about Rosco's is the fact that they have fresh-cut fries. I know it's not the same for everyone. But, sometimes they just taste better, especially if you get them loaded.

Needless to say, I died and went to fresh-cut fry heaven.

Details on something I ate:

  • Restaurant Name: Rosco's Sports Bar & Grill

  • Location: 4646 Buffalo Rd, Erie, PA 16510

  • Item(s) Ordered: Grilled chicken wrap with a side of fries & loaded fries

  • Price: $11 (wrap & fries) // $10 (loaded fries) + taxes/tip

  • Value: Nothing to complain about here! The amount of food you get for the price is very good.

  • Atmosphere: It's perfect if you want to grab a burger, wrap or beer and hang out with your friends and family for the big game (or whatever sporting event is happening). There is plenty of TVs and seating to make sure that everyone stays up to date on all the action happening. If you wanted to keep it low-key, that's fine, too. It's a family-friendly atmosphere that everyone feels comfortable being in.

They have drink specials throughout the week, including $4 Long Islands. They have close to two dozen different varieties!

They have other fun things to try on the menu like their Rosco's Roundup (burgers) and poutine. There is something for everyone!

While you're making the hardest decision of the day on what drink to have and what to pair it with for dinner, you may see some familiar places and menu items. You aren't losing your mind! Rosco's is owned by the same family that runs and operates Alexander's on the Lake in Findley Lake, NY.

If you pop into Rosco's, let me know! Maybe it will be something I ate!
